When Lori and I moved to Richardson last spring, to be honest, we really weren’t looking to buy here. He had been looking extensively in the Lake Highlands area. When I mean extensively … I mean A LOT. In the spring of 2016 the real estate market was SUPER HOT and houses were going so quickly, by the time I wrote an offer … most had numerous offers or had already gone under contract. Most of the houses we wanted were in good neighborhoods that had recently been renovated and usually there were one or two things that still needed to be fixed, in our opinion.
I still officed in McKinney and she had recently taken a new job near Mockingbird and Abrams. We needed help with that commute. It was killing her to drive in on 75 every morning. Then we found this house in Richardson, really liked it, loved the neighborhood, and the commute was tolerable.
The house had a lot to offer us and the grands, plus we began to see what a jewel Richardson was to us. The restaurants, the community events and especially the neighborhoods. Houses, mostly built in the 60’s with beautiful tree lined streets. We walk nearly everyday, speak to people and just enjoy the “slowed down” pace of living in Richardson. Kids still play in the streets and the neighborhoods really like to unite for events and safety.
The Richard Heights Neighborhood was recently featured in an article in D magazine as one of the 5 best neighborhoods on the rise in DFW. Even though we “accidentally” bumped into Richardson and the great home values here, we are excited that we will spend the next chapter of our lives helping people buy and sell their homes in this area. If you are looking for a home in the Richards Heights Neighborhood or some of the surrounding ones like; Cottonwood Heights, Waterview Preservation, Heights Park or Arapaho Heights … you should give me a call. After all, I live here and know the area pretty well. Hope to see you at the next block party!
